Romanian Hub to prepare the sustainability of the TInnGo project

The Romanian Hub of TInnGO warmly welcomes the newest and one of the most important collaborators at the national level committed to gender equality: the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development & Innovation Funding in Romania (UEFISCIDI).

Years of relevant experience (outlined also through the CALIPER project for gender equality in STEM research) but also the passion for the work they are doing every day to promote and implement the concept of gender equality recommend the UEFISCDI team as a very reliable partner for TInnGO and the Romanian Hub. A thematic twinning was organized on October 5th by Alba Iulia Municipality, INTECO and UEFISCIDI, to develop connections at national level and enable support in the implementation of the Gender and Diversity Action Plan (GADAP).

Mrs Elena Simion and Mr Alex Dinu, who represented the UEFISCDI team, shared their experience in creating the Gender Equality Plan which will be implemented in 7 research organisations and 2 research funding agencies during the CALIPER project. Both UEFISCDI and Romanian Hub had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on how the gender balance can be included in research funding instruments or the evaluation criteria. The know-how exchange and shared experience from different operational areas (i.e. Higher Education and Entrepreneurship & Innovation Policy Development) facilitated a functional working environment that can be developed beyond TInnGO project completion.

Mrs Ioana Baba, TInnGo project manager within Alba Iulia Municipality states: ”As throughout the whole TInnGO project, the Municipality is taking a proactive approach on gender equality. We try to anticipate and prepare for the future, not just wait for things to happen. We are glad to have broadened the range of TInnGO collaborators with an extremely valuable and dedicated partner, who can bring significant added value in the sustainability phase of the project.”

UEFISCDI is a public entity of the Central Administration in Romania under the ultimate authority of the Ministry of Education and Research which created an informal networking framework for entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, public representatives, civil society and academia, to meet and debate in an open space on the newest trends in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship policy development needs.
