Supercykelstier report that sales in electric bikes in Denmark have reached record levels this year. The electric bike trend has steadily risen over the years and in the last 5 years, sales increased by almost 200%.
It is possible that the corona crisis has made biking a more attractive alternative for transportation. The electric bike eases long distance biking and is utilized by the general public and not only hardcore exercisers, according to Supercykelstier.
A study from 2019 shows that 11% of cyclists on the Roskilde route use electric bikes. 8% of Danes owns an electric bike and it is clear that electric biking is becoming more popular in the country as a whole.
