West Midlands cycling hire scheme operates now across the region with bikes in Birmingham, Coventry, Sandwell, Stourbridge, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall and Wolverhampton. Bikes are available 24/7. With docking stations at major bus, metro and train stations, visitor attractions and city or town centres. The cycle hire scheme was launched this year by Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), partner of TInnGO, to encourage more people to become active and healthy and offer a convenient and more environmentally-friendly alternative to the car for shorter journeys. The scheme offers free 30 minutes rides to first time users, and flexible hiring option like pay as you ride or minute bundles. Since the launch in March 2021 over 55,000 people have signed up and ridden bikes. The scheme has the potential to open up cycling opportunities to more people, and reduce traffic across cities in region.
