Since the transport field is one of the most gender segregated both in terms of labour occupancy and of the incorporated gender culture and roles, the Baltic hub within the framework of TINNGO project activities has organized the online workshop / webinar on the topic ‘Promoting women entrepreneurship and employment in the field of smart mobility.’ This online event took place on the 29th of October and 9 female participants from various fields of transport sector took part in discussing the possibilities of women’s wider presence in transport-related jobs, fostering innovation and sustainability, and supporting economic recovery.

The main intention of the event was to bring to the fore profiles of successful career and business women in the field of transports and smart mobility, as an inspiration to other women to embrace a career in the transport ecosystem.

The event was concluded by the insights of the participants: lack of the gender balance is repelling a number of women who would like to work in the relevant field. Moreover, the accuracy of gender stereotypes is still relevant. Event participants underlined the idea of support mechanisms that could be developed to encourage other females to join the field as well as to boost the confidence of the females already in the field.
