The European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Expert Group on “Gendered Innovations/Innovation through Gender” has developed a case study on “The impact of sex and gender in the current COVID-19 pandemic“.

The study focuses on the sex differences in the body’s immune response to Covid-19 which show that women respond better to viral infections and produce more antibodies in response. However, women are expected to suffer more than men from the health, economic and social consequences of the pandemic in the long term.
